while I'm waiting

Another favorite song of mine... this time it's about waiting on the Lord for His will, plan and purpose in my life. This was from the movie "Fireproof" it made me cry buckets watching that movie even if I'm not yet married! Here is the music video and the lyrics as well.

John Waller - While I'm Waiting (Official Music Video) from Provident Label Group on Vimeo.

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Takeing every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord

still

I'm contemplating on this song... and it just hit me.  With all the happenings in my life, the trying times: meaning challenges or struggles may it be in the work place, family or personal life... all I need to do is to be STILL and know that God is in control.

HIDE ME NOW
UNDER YOUR WINGS
COVER ME
WITHIN YOUR MIGHTY HAND
* WHEN THE OCEANS RISE AND THUNDERS ROAR
I WILL SOAR WITH YOU ABOVE THE STORM
FATHER, YOU ARE KING OVER THE FLOOD
I WILL BE STILL AND KNOW YOU ARE GOD
FIND REST MY SOUL
IN CHRIST A – LONE
KNOW HIS POW’R
IN QUIETNESS AND TRUST

an open letter for myself

buying a car

Now that our house renovation is almost done, 90% actually... there are still some repairs to be made but it can wait...  My next project is to buy my first ever car!!! I know that this is too much for me to comprehend.  But I believe that with hard-work and perseverance, I can be able to purchase this car.  The car that is in my mind is the Toyota Avanza.  I like the slimness of the car, and yet it can seat 7passengers.  I just hope and pray that I could be able to come up with the funds to purchase this baby hopefully by the end of the year or early next year! :)

counting my blessings

Thinking of what to write on my blog, I told myself that instead of ranting about the things that didn't go well in my life for the past year, I've decided to stay away from negativity and look at the brighter side of life.  Upon doing that, my heart was filled with thanksgiving and joy.  I just thank God for all the blessings that came my way and will be coming in :)  You see, there are things that I've been praying about for the longest time and God answered it in His own perfect time.

First, I got to travel a) with my siblings to another country within Asia lang naman and that was Oct last year.  We had a really good time bonding together and visiting foreign places. b) with my friends from the office in the beautiful island of Boracay last April of this year.  We were able to experience different kinds of watersports that Bora has to offer like parasailing, reef walking, snorkeling, island hopping, zip line and ATV.  We also tried the famous Jonah's fruitshakes.  It was superb! Will post pictures soon :)
Second, I was able to live on my own. Moving out from my folks' house was a tough one because it entails bigger responsibility, discipline and becoming wiser on making my own decisions.  I'm just thrilled that for almost 3 months now, I can say that I'm doing a pretty good job standing on my own 2 feet without relying on my family.

Third, this was not actually for me but for my Pop.  Having his second-chance in love. Naks!  After being widowed for 23 years, he finally ties the knot for the second time last June 25 of this year.  And we, his children supported him on this decision.  Although at first, we were hesitant to agree on it but after seeing him being so happy with his new found love, we had no choice but to support them and be happy for them.

Fourth, landing on a new job in an international company that requires me to be deployed off-shore for a project.  More chika soon... :)

Fifth, loving someone who keeps me inspired all this time.  Yehess naman!

There are still a lot of things that I am thankful and grateful for.  Truly, blessings do come in big and small packages.  So however big or small it can be, we should learn how to be thankful for it and count our blessings. AMEN!

my new thingamajig!

At last, got to own this new thing yey!!!  After months of canvassing on what brand, where to buy and considering my budget for it...  I was able to buy this new thing I'm eyeing for the past 2 months already.  I can say that it's a good buy considering the brand and the freebie that goes with it.  My new purchased item was the Samsung 22" LCD TV series 4 haha!!  Thank you Lord!  It comes with a free Samsung DVD player too.  The good thing about it is that when I plugged on the cable wire that is hanging on my window, voila!  Cable channels are being shown.  Another thank you Lord! :D

and i'm back...

wow! It's been a while since my last entry here in my blog.  Almost a year of being hiatus and boy how I missed it sooo much that I am getting ready on making new entries again.  So many things have happened in my life since my last post.  I've had my fare share of ups and downs, bittersweet memories and unforgettable experiences for me to ponder on.  Well, that's all I can say for now.  I will be back in a bit :)

Bohol Getaway!

The next travel destination on my list this year was the beautiful province of Bohol. Even the weather did not hinder us to make that trip and see what we gotta see... and we were not disappointed.  Carry lang! :)

Aahh, Bohol... the popular tourist destination in the Visayas region aside from Boracay and Cebu of course and the home of the tarsiers.  Tourist visiting the province has a more laid back kind of feel.  Unlike those who were vacationing in Boracay which is too crowded and suffocating.  In Bohol, they are there just to relax and unwind, enjoy the view, sites and sounds... as in literally the resorts there are very quiet and serene.  They observe the tranquility of the place.

Being in Bohol makes you appreciate nature more, we were lucky enough that the accommodations we've booked was a beach front setting.  So we pretty much enjoyed walking in the sand barefoot and eating our dinner alfresco style... naks!  Aside from that, we were the only Pinoys who were checked-in on the resort during that time.  As in all the guests in the resort were of different nationalities like Dutch, Germans, French... ooohhh lala... hahaha!

... visit the Mag-Aso falls.  But there's a catch, before you could reach the falls itself, you have to go through 197 concrete steps.  Huwaaattt??? But the view is really worth the exhaustion.  The water is cold, clean and clear.  Sarap magtampisaw sa tubig hehehe.  Going back is another uphill climb.  Imagine climbing 197 steps whew!!!.  Super duper hingal ako non.  According to  Mr. Google, Mag-Aso falls derived its name from the Visayan term "aso", meaning smoke, which refers to the smoke effect created by the cascading waters.

... have lunch @ Bohol Bee Farm.  They serve organic foods that they themselves harvested from their garden.  Flowers like orchids are included in their salads, and it tastes good with their dressing.  Their menus are mostly ala carte so you have to order what is really appealing to your palette. Try also their home-made ice cream with flavors of lanka, avocado, mango and malungay for dessert.

.. at night, have your dinner served to you by the beach under the moonlit sky.  It's so relaxing to hear the sound of the waves while eating your dinner and having good laughs with your friends. After that, go for a walk and have a dessert of chocolate cake on a nearby café

... enjoy the view! wake up early and have a hearty breakfast to jumpstart your day.  Get ready for a looooong day ahead of you.

... stop by on the hanging bridge and eat a grilled banana cue.  first time to try this one and ahluveeet!!!

... of course don't forget the chocolate hills, the tarsiers and the man-made forest

... take the loboc river cruise while having lunch.

... go dolphin watching early the next morning.  we saw a good number of dolphins during that time.

... lounge in the pool the whoooole afternoon.  take time for a real relaxation cause remember it's off peak season so you are the only ones in the whole resort.  in our case we are the only Filipinos in the resort.  we took advantage of the pool being available only for ourselves even just for an hour or two.

... explore the nightlife and chance upon a cool place.  a band was playing just a few blocks away from the resort and so even if its drizzling mildly, off we go to the place to check it out.

... and last but definitely not the least, this is a MUST try when you're in Bohol.  Try the Extreme Adventure Tour in Danao, Bohol.  Ang LUPET neto!!!
Experience being transported from one mountain to another in a 450 meter-ride and 200 meters  deep down the river while you are enjoying the Sky Ride, Plunging and Suislide.  We've tried the Suislide and I tell you, it was a KICK ASS, fun ride.  At first, I was very hesitant to try it but eventually I was persuaded to go on and take the challenge.  Buti na lng sinubukan ko... I did not regret it in the end.  Hahaha!!!  My other officemates tried the Canyon Plunge, and they loved it!!  So if you want to experience a once in a lifetime adventure, I definitely recommend this one.  For us, this was the culminating event on our whole trip in Bohol.  Hay!!! Happinesss... whhheeee!!!

me @ past 2am doing photo shoots

What to do on this rainy Friday dawn?  Aside from checking on my Facebook,
I was bored and not yet sleepy... damn starbucks coffee after office!!

matuloy kaya???

On my previous post, I blog about a planned trip of ours going to Bohol.
With the original schedule being moved twice, from July 2-5 it became July 17-20 and now it is scheduled to be on July 24-27.  From the 8 pax who booked on that flight, it is now down to 3 pax that are sure to be going... how sad
So now, I'm confused if this trip would still push through with a Low Pressure Area being forecasted by PAGASA to hit the Philippines this week... oh nooooo!!!
But I wanna see the Chocolate Hills and the tarsiers and the Loboc River and the Panglao Island... huhuhu…

And so the 1 million dollar question still remains... matuloy kaya???
