iTunes problem

I'm having a hard time installing version 10 of iTunes in my laptop.  This was a problem for me since last year and until now I wasn't able to find the solution for it.  Booo!!! I always get this error message "SystemVersion.plist could not be saved. You do not have the appropriate access privileges".  I've already unistalled my existing iTunes and then re-installed the newer version but still getting the error message.  I'm so frustrated because I can't add new songs to my iTouch's playlist :(  Help!!! anyone???

writer's block and holy week plans

These past few weeks have been tough on me in terms of my work schedule.  Our team was advised to work on a mid-shift schedule, that is from 3PM - 12MN and then after a week it was moved to night shift from 10PM - 6AM.  This is all new to me, I am not used to going to work on a different time zone on a daily basis and that is the UK and US time zones.  The reason is for us to have a better coordination with our QA counterparts.  That is why this blog site was left empty with no updates for a month, thus causing me to have what you call the "writer's block". Duh!!!
I can't think of any topic to touch base with and make a literary post.  But lo and behold!  Today, I was able to write and thank heavens, I am now back to blogging.  I am ready to type on my new upholstered laptop! YEY!!!  Anyways, for this post I would like to share my Holy Week plans.  No travel plans for this holiday :(  I will just stay at home, cook some spaghetti and have a dvd marathon together with sis and couz'.  Dude is going back to Cebu for his yearly vacation so no companion for traveling hehe... On these days, I hope to have my much needed rest and some time with the family and of course for self-reflection.

Although I don't have travel plans for this week, I'm looking forward to May and June for our planned vacation.  For May, Dude and I are going to a 1-day tour to the historic Corregidor Island.  http://www.corregidorphilippines.com/index.html

And for June, our destination would be on Mindanao.  The home of Durian - the fruit that stinks but taste delicious for some but not for me haha!  We are going to Pearl Farm Beach Resort... so excited for that! Wooohooo!!!  http://www.pearlfarmbeachresort-davao.com/

Time to sweat it out the excess fats in my bulging tummy, arms and legs to look good for the pictures! haha!  Yeah baby, no rice diet na ito for a month and a half... I can do this! AJA!!! :)

be thankful

I got this from an email from a friend and thought of posting it in my blog because of how it inspired me to be thankful on whatever circumstances I am faced up against.  So here ya go!
__________________________________________________________________

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire.  If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don’t know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.  During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes.  They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary, because it means you’ve made a difference.

It’s easy to be thankful for the good things.  A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.  Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.  Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.
Have a great weekend ahead!! :)

the solid rock

In the light of the recent events that hit Japan, I am reminded of being a Christian.  I’d like to share this tweet from Gary V. that I’ve read a while ago... I was moved by it.
"Tweeps...note the frequency of natural and man made events. There's more that's gone on in the last 20yrs than in the last 50..."

"all these were already foretold, and all these events can be traced to the only word that never changes...HIS."

6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed.  Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.  There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.”  Matthew 24:6-8

The "birth pains" have now become quite frequent, and we know that with more birth pains at shorter intervals, the inevitable isn't far off.
It is not meant to threaten anyone but to encourage everyone that while there still is time...make that decision and move to safe ground.

"Safety is not in the absence of danger but being in the presence of the Almighty God." - Ptr Ray-An Fuentes
."

I also would like to share this Hymn of Grace that I always sing whenever these kinds of situations are happening.

A Hymn of Grace
THE SOLID ROCK
  Keith W. Ward
 My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

inside a nutshell of a 30 something lady *wink*

I would like to begin this blog entry from a cliche' from Hervey Allen saying -- "The only time you really live fully is from thirty to sixty. The young are slaves to dreams; the old servants of regrets. Only the middle-aged have all their five senses in the keeping of their wits."
I love this cliche', it depicts exactly what a 30 something lady like me is going through as an individual.  Turning 30 for me was something that I was afraid of back then.  It looks like a BIG, scary milestone in my life.  But now that I'm here, it's not that bad and scary at all.  In fact, I enjoy being 30!  Why not?  I am healthy (that's what I think :p), financially independent, able to help the family, able to travel in some parts of the Philippines and it's neighboring countries (naks!) and loving someone and being loved back hihi.  30, as they say is just a number.  I have no qualms in growing old and mentioning my age to other people basta ba may pinagkatandaan.  I feel that during this time, I am living my life to the fullest, having the time of my life, becoming the woman that I wanted to be back when I was still a kid and sharing this whole journey with someone who is close to my heart and who keeps me inspired and motivated all the time (except for bad days) haha!

I still  have my dreams and aspirations in life.  But I'm more confident now to pursue those dreams and making them into a reality.  I believe I'm just a few steps away from achieving them.  And now, the only thing that keeps me hopeful and optimistic about the future is the idea of having my own family.  That would be nice to see it coming 2-3 years down the road.  As what I always hear during our meetings in the office "this is still in the pipeline", or better yet still in progress or still under construction hihi! But seriously, I'm still praying for it.  I am hopeful that God will answer my prayers in His own perfect time! :)

singapore galore

Ok, I promised to blog about what happened in our SG trip last month.  All I can say is that... It was hilarious and fun!!! haha.  I discovered new things about Dude and him as well to me.
It was my 2nd time going to the Lion City, but if you know me well... I'm a georaphically challenged person.
So going to the tourist spots from Point A to Point B, got us a mere 30mins in the train station just figuring out how to go there by train booo hooo!  But it was a memorable experience sharing it with my love
♥♥♥.  To read more about our adventure on this place, please visit dude's blog... please click HERE for our First Day adventure in Singapore :)

going back to the Lion City

Last year 2010, I only got to travel domestic: Boracay, Tagaytay, Cebu. My last out of the country flight was 2009 in Singapore together with my siblings.  For this year 2011, I've found myself traveling back to the Lion City with a different companion... and that is with my Dude.  Sooo excited to see the new tourist destinations in Singapore like the newly opened Universal Studios and the Marina Bay Sands.  Will blog about it after the trip.  I'll be back in a bit :)

reminiscing...

My cousin is getting married next month in Canada, and so she asked me if I can send her scanned baby and growing up pictures of her to be used on their wedding AVP.  As me and my sister were going through her photo album, I've found some pictures of us cousins way, way back!  It's such a nice experience looking on old photos and reminiscing the past that goes with it. We are laughing out loud by just looking our childhood photos. Can you find me on these pictures? hehe!

our valentine date :)

Yesterday's occasion was all about spreading the love and receiving it at the same time. For me, this was my first valentine having someone to share it with... yiiheee! :)
Prior to this day, it did not occur to me into celebrating this very commercialized day, as I was mending a broken-heart a few weeks back.  But after we've patched things up, I was excited for the day to come!  And so it came...
At exactly 12:00 midnight of 02/14/2011, my phone received a text message coming from him saying the simplest words a girl like me wanted to hear/read during Vday. But as sleepyhead as I am, I only got to read it in the morning. haha! I texted him back reciprocating the love thru text. The day had passed, around 5:30PM, I was looking for him in my gtalk chat but he was in offline mode. I thought he just restarted his laptop, so I just get on with my task in the office. I checked on him again at 6PM and he was still in offline mode, so I send him an email... still no reply :(  I was now a bit anxious if our date will push through or not.  I don't have a load at the time so I was compelled to go down and re-load to text him if our date will push through.  His reply was that he's now in Makati and that I always spoil his surprises *wink wink*.  It made me jump into my feet and rush to the comfort room to re-touch and "magmaganda" haha!  After braving the Makati traffic, he was able to make it in my office building carrying a box of 1 long stemmed pink rose and a gift, which by just feeling it was a teddy bear haha! sooo highschool!!! but I loved it ♥♥♥...

And for our dinner date, we went to Greenbelt 3 to scour for a nice dining place. We stopped at Recipes by CafĂ© Metro that serves local cuisine, mostly given an interesting twist.

We  ordered the Crispy Tilapia, Chili Prawns, Gising-Gising and Seafood rice. It was a sumptuous dinner shared with my love :)

After the dinner, we had a little chit-chat and then he walked me to the terminal where my ride home is. End of story! haha... That was it, a simple gesture of showing his love to me which I truly appreciated and felt.  The smile on my face won't go away even if I'm already in my bed ready to doze off into  my sleep :) :) :)  Thanks again to my Dude for the Valentine gift and the effort that you've put through on that day.  So let me end this entry by leaving these 3 characters dedicated to My Dude... I ♥ U  cheesy! :p
